Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj decimated Sri Lanka's top order in the Asia Cup final to become the fourth fastest Indian to 50 ODI wickets. After Jasprit Bumrah dismissed opener Kusal Perera early, Siraj produced a match-defining double wicket maiden over. He removed Nissanka, Samarawickrama, Asalanka and de Silva to leave Sri Lanka tottering at 12/5. Siraj then returned to bag his maiden ODI five-wicket haul by castling skipper Shanaka. India had finished Super 4s top with wins over Pakistan and Sri Lanka before losing to Bangladesh. In the final, Shanaka opted to bat first after winning the toss. Siraj's brilliance put India firmly in control as they aimed to clinch a record 8th Asia Cup title.
