Vijay made his first public appearance after his party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), surged ahead in the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. He greeted hundreds of supporters outside his parents’ home in Chennai on Monday evening. Dressed in a white shirt, Vijay waved and folded his hands as people cheered. TVK is leading the race to become the single largest party, ahead of both Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam. Congratulatory messages poured in from film personalities. A. R. Rahman wished him success as a leader, while Chiranjeevi praised his debut electoral performance. (PC: HT)
