Israel has said it killed Iran’s security chief Ali Larijani in airstrikes, but Larijani posted a handwritten note online the same day. Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz made the claim. Iran has not confirmed his death. Larijani, 67, was seen as a key figure in Iran’s security setup after Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed earlier. He was working with the transition leadership. In his last post, Larijani honoured Iranian sailors killed in a US submarine attack. He earlier warned of a “conspiracy” against Iran. His status remains unclear. (PC: India Today)
