Indian-origin households are the wealthiest among ethnic groups in the UK, while Pakistani households remain among the poorest, according to a study by the London School of Economics. The report shows median wealth for Indian households rose by more than £93,000 over the past decade. It increased from about £113,000 in 2012–14 to nearly £206,000 in 2021–23. Pakistani households saw much lower wealth levels and weaker growth during the same period. The study also found Indian households were most likely to earn high weekly incomes above £1,000 and £2,000. Pakistani households had a higher share in low income groups. The findings are based on official UK household survey data. (PC: X)
