Indian police have arrested Arjun Sharma in Tamil Nadu after he fled the United States following the killing of his former partner, Nikitha Godishala. US investigators said Godishala, a 27-year-old data analyst based in Maryland, was reported missing on January 2. Sharma told police he last saw her on New Year’s Eve and left the country the same day. A search of his apartment in Columbia, Maryland, on January 3 found Godishala dead with multiple stab wounds. Howard County Police issued arrest warrants for first- and second-degree murder. US and Indian agencies tracked Sharma through international coordination. Extradition steps are expected to follow.
