The Centre has introduced a Bill in Parliament to replace MGNREGA with a new scheme called G Ram G. The government said the move fits the “Viksit Bharat 2047” vision and raises guaranteed work from 100 to 125 days. Congress strongly opposed the change. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra asked, “Why are they removing Mahatma Gandhi’s name?” She said public money would be wasted on renaming. Congress MP Ranjeet Ranjan said, “First Nehru, then Indira, now they have a problem with Bapu.” The Opposition said the focus should be on timely payments, not name changes. (PC: NDTV)
