India’s Ministry of Defence has formalised a five-year sustainment support deal worth approximately ₹7,995 crore with the United States for its MH-60R Seahawk helicopter fleet. The agreement, under the US Foreign Military Sales (FMS) programme, includes spares, technical training, repair of components, and establishing maintenance facilities in India. The move aims to boost the helicopters’ operational readiness while advancing Aatmanirbhar Bharat goals by building in-country repair and inspection capabilities. (PC: PIB)
