Russian Knights aerobatics team honored fallen Indian Air Force pilot Wing Commander Namansh Syal with the "Missing Man" maneuver following his death in a Tejas crash at Dubai Air Show on November 21. The tribute, described as honoring "brothers who did not return from the last flight," came as Syal's mortal remains were cremated in Himachal Pradesh's Kangra district with full military honors. His wife, accompanied by their six-year-old daughter, performed a farewell salute. Syal's father called him one of only four aerobatic pilots in India and "the best student." This marks the second Tejas accident in two years, following a March 2024 Jaisalmer crash during the indigenous aircraft's operational history.
