A 51-year-old Indian man, Jagjit Singh, visiting Canada on a temporary visa to see his newborn grandchild has been convicted of criminally harassing two teenage schoolgirls in Sarnia and faces deportation with a permanent entry ban. Between September 8-11, Singh repeatedly appeared at a high school's smoking area, approaching girls and persistently photographing them despite refusals. He inappropriately touched one victim, prompting her to push him away. Initially charged with sexual interference and assault, Singh pleaded guilty to criminal harassment. Both victims described severe emotional trauma and safety concerns. Justice Krista Lynn Leszczynski condemned his behavior as unacceptable. Singh received jail time, three-year probation, and immediate deportation by Canadian Border Services. (PC: Sarnia Police)
