Five Indian workers from Tamil Nadu have been kidnapped in Mali, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) confirmed on Monday. The men, employed by a Mumbai-based company, were working on an electrification project near Kouri when armed groups abducted them on November 6. The Indian Embassy in Bamako is in touch with Malian authorities and international partners to secure their safe release. All five are from Thoothukudi and Tenkasi districts. Tamil Nadu leaders have urged the Centre to act quickly. Mali has seen frequent kidnappings of foreign workers due to ongoing violence by extremist groups. (PC: India Today)
