Fantasy RPG Baldur's Gate 3 stormed the gaming industry's major awards night, Game Awards 2023, picking up six prizes including the top Game of the Year honor. Accepting the trophy, developer Larian Studios called the epic game based on Dungeons & Dragons "a labour of love". Survival horror game Alan Wake 2 also impressed, winning awards for direction, narrative, and art direction. Other key winners included Cyberpunk 2077 for best ongoing game, puzzle adventure game Cocoon, and The Last of Us for best adaptation. Revealing the game of the year was Willy Wonka star Timothée Chalamet, an avid gamer himself who visited iconic Japanese developer Hideo Kojima's studio recently.
