For the first time, New York City will host Sharadiya Durga Puja at Times Square on October 3–4, 2025. Organized by the Times Square Durga Utsav Association, the event will be staged at Father Duffy Square, inspired by Kolkata’s Maddox Square and Dhaka’s Dhakeshwari Temple. A specially crafted idol from Kumartuli, Kolkata, will be the centerpiece. Traditional rituals like Sindoor Khela and Dhunuchi Naach will be performed, alongside cultural programs by artists from India and Bangladesh. Open to all, the festival will also be streamed globally, showcasing unity and cultural pride for the diaspora.
