Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov criticized US tariff policies against India, stating that "ancient civilizations" like India won't bow to American ultimatums. Speaking on Channel 1 TV, Lavrov said tariffs against India and China are proving ineffective, as both nations have stood firm against Washington's warnings. The US imposed 50% tariffs on Indian exports from August 27, including 25% penalty for buying Russian oil, affecting shrimp, textiles, leather sectors. Despite tensions, India-US trade talks resumed this week with chief negotiators meeting to resolve bilateral issues.
