Andhra Pradesh, India’s top shrimp exporter, is facing huge losses after US President Donald Trump’s tariffs. The state estimates Rs 25,000 crore losses, with 50 percent of export orders cancelled. Nearly Rs 600 crore in extra tariffs hit 2,000 containers. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said, “Aqua farmers and families are facing severe hardships. We need urgent support from the Centre.” He asked for GST relief, financial aid, and steps to boost local consumption. Andhra produces 80 percent of India’s shrimp exports. Naidu also urged Free Trade Agreements with the EU, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, and Russia. (PC: The Indian Express)
