Chandra Mouli "Bob" Nagamallaiah, a 50-year-old Indian-American motel manager, was brutally beheaded at Downtown Suites Dallas motel by Cuban national Yordanis Cobos-Martinez following a dispute over a broken washing machine. Cobos-Martinez was released from ICE custody in January 2025 under the Biden administration because Cuba refused repatriation. The 37-year-old suspect has extensive criminal history including child sex abuse, grand theft auto, and assault. President Trump condemned the killing, calling it "terrible" and declaring "time for being soft" on illegal immigrant criminals is over. Trump vowed to "make America safe again" through his administration's tough stance. Cobos-Martinez faces capital murder charges and potential death penalty. The attack occurred in front of Nagamallaiah's wife and teenage son. (PC: X & History.com)
