India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Tuesday advised citizens to “avoid travel to Nepal” until the situation improves. The advisory followed the resignation of Nepal’s Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli after violent protests that left at least 19 people dead. The MEA said, “Indian nationals presently in Nepal are advised to shelter indoors, avoid the streets, and follow safety guidelines from local authorities and the Embassy of India in Kathmandu.” It also issued emergency helpline numbers for stranded citizens. The situation remains tense as protests continue across Nepal. (PC: X)
