Prime Minister Narendra Modi will not attend the upcoming United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) session in New York, scheduled later this month. Instead, External Affairs Minister (EAM) S. Jaishankar will represent India and address the UNGA on September 27. This marks a continuation of the practice where Jaishankar has frequently represented India at the forum in recent years. Modi’s absence is attributed to his busy domestic and diplomatic schedule. Jaishankar is expected to highlight India’s stance on global security, multilateral reforms, climate change, counterterrorism, and sustainable development, reinforcing India’s growing international influence.
