American economist Richard Wolff said the United States is “shooting itself in the foot” by imposing 50% tariffs on Indian exports. Speaking to TV host Rick Sanchez, he warned that Washington’s move will only push India towards other markets and strengthen the BRICS bloc. Sanchez called the tariff decision a “world-changing” moment, saying historians will note the shift. Wolff added that India, now the world’s most populous country, is not a small player the US can pressure.
