J&K Rain Havoc: 41 Dead, Vaishno Devi Yatra Halted As Landslides And Floods Hit Jammu

Heavy rains in Jammu and Kashmir have killed at least 41 people in two days, with landslides and floods causing destruction. A major landslide on the Vaishno Devi pilgrimage route in Reasi killed 34 people and injured many. Rescue teams are still searching for survivors. The pilgrimage remains suspended. Rivers, including the Jhelum, crossed danger levels and entered homes in Anantnag and Srinagar. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah announced ₹6 lakh for victims’ families and briefed Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Schools are closed, and train services were disrupted.
