US President Donald Trump has appointed Sergio Gor as the next ambassador to India and special envoy for South and Central Asian Affairs. Gor, currently the White House personnel director, is a longtime Trump ally. He co-founded Winning Team Publishing with Donald Trump Jr. and has managed Trump’s campaign projects and Super PACs. Trump called Gor a “great friend” and said he trusted him to advance his agenda in the world’s most populous region. Gor thanked Trump for the honor, saying it would be the proudest moment of his career. He will succeed Eric Garcetti, pending Senate confirmation. (PC: India Today)
