Pakistan has asked India to restart the Indus Water Treaty, which New Delhi suspended in May after a terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam. The request came days after war threats from Pakistan’s army chief Asim Munir and politician Bilawal Bhutto. Pakistan’s Foreign Office welcomed a Court of Arbitration ruling that India must let water flow from the Indus, Jhelum, and Chenab rivers. India says it does not recognise the court’s proceedings. The treaty, signed in 1960, gives India rights over three eastern rivers and Pakistan over three western rivers. India suspended it citing Pakistan’s support for terrorism. (PC: NDTV)
