The social media erupted over former IPL chairman Lalit Modi's presence at lawyer Harish Salve's London wedding alongside girlfriend Ujjwala Raut. Modi, IPL's founder and ex-chairman, is wanted in India on financial irregularity and tax evasion charges from 2010. The BCCI accused Modi of defrauding it of ₹753 crores in collusion with officials. In 2020, the External Affairs Ministry named Modi among 72 Indians facing financial fraud charges abroad that enforcement agencies are seeking through LOC, RCN, and extradition. Despite his fugitive status, Modi’s attendance at the wedding of One Nation One Election panel member Salve provoked criticism.
