A devastating cloudburst hit Dharali village in Uttarakhand's Uttarkashi district around 13:30 IST, triggering flash floods that destroyed buildings, hotels, and roads. Dozens are feared trapped under debris, with rescue efforts hampered by heavy rains and poor connectivity. Dramatic footage shows muddy water engulfing the area, as people shouted warnings. The Kalpkedar temple is reportedly damaged. Army and paramilitary forces, including ITBP, have reached the site. Injured victims are being treated at Harsil’s army camp. PM Narendra Modi expressed condolences and said “no stone is being left unturned” in rescue operations. Dharali lies 2km from the popular tourist spot Harsil. (PC: BBC)
