Aalborg Zoo in northern Denmark has sparked debate by asking people to donate unwanted pets—rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens, and even small horses—to feed predators like lions and tigers. The zoo says the goal is to mimic the natural food chain, ensure predator well-being, and reduce waste. Donated animals are "gently euthanized" by trained staff before being used as food. Deputy Director Pia Nielsen said such practices are common in Denmark and support the natural diets of carnivores. While some applaud the zoo’s ecological approach, others are disturbed by pets being turned into prey. (PC: CNN)
