The Supreme Court will hear on July 14 a plea to halt the execution of Indian nurse Nimisha Priya, sentenced to death in Yemen for the 2017 murder of her business partner. The petition, filed by the Save Nimisha Priya Action Council, urges diplomatic intervention. Priya, 38, from Kerala, allegedly killed Talal Abdo Mahdi after he withheld her passport. Her family claims she suffered abuse. Yemen’s top court upheld the sentence, and execution is scheduled for July 16.
