The Indian Consul General in Scotland, Satya Veer Singh, attended the groundbreaking ceremony on 31 August for a National British Indian Army Memorial in Glasgow. The memorial, to be built on Argyll Street next to the Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum, will honour the contributions of South Asian soldiers during World Wars I and II. The ceremony marked the start of construction for the landmark monument, which has been planned to commemorate the sacrifice and bravery of Indian army troops who served Britain.
