Maninder Singh, a techie who spent 3 years in the US, now runs a rajma-chawal food stall in Mohali. Contrary to viral claims, Singh clarified he was not deported but chose to return to his motherland after his father’s death. A video showcasing Singh’s stall, shared on the popular Instagram channel ‘Foodler’ gone viral eventually. In the video, Singh whipped out his driving license from New York as proof that he once lived in the Big Apple. He explained that he has 12 years of total work experience in tech, retail, call centres and IT. Now, his affordable ₹60-plate meals are popular among locals. Singh says he has no regrets and takes pride in serving quality food to the community.
