In the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 civilians, India suspended the Indus Waters Treaty and launched Operation Sindoor, destroying nine terror bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir. Pakistan retaliated with military strikes, escalating tensions until a four-day conflict ended. Now, a nine-member Pakistani delegation, including Jalil Abbas Jilani and Sherry Rehman, is lobbying US officials to restore the treaty and push for peace talks. Islamabad claims India’s move threatens water access for 240 million Pakistanis.
