India has officially approved the execution phase of the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) program, a major milestone in its quest to develop a fifth-generation stealth fighter jet domestically. Spearheaded by the Aeronautical Development Agency, the AMCA will feature cutting-edge stealth, supercruise, and AI capabilities. The move comes as a strategic response to rising regional tensions, particularly with China's J-35 and Pakistan's J-10 fighter deployments. Backed by both public and private sector collaboration under the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative, the first prototype is expected by 2028, with full-scale production anticipated by 2035. (PC: Reuters)
