During a visit to Tehran, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed readiness to engage in peace talks with India to resolve all outstanding issues, including Kashmir, terrorism, water sharing, and trade. His remarks followed a recent agreement between India and Pakistan to halt cross-border firing, which had intensified after the Pahalgam terrorist attack and India's retaliatory Operation Sindoor. Sharif emphasized the need for negotiations to address these disputes. However, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has maintained that any dialogue with Pakistan will be limited to the return of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and the issue of terrorism, asserting that "terror and talks cannot happen at the same time" and "blood and water cannot flow together."
