India strongly criticized Pakistan at the UN Security Council, calling out its “hypocritical” stance on civilian protection amid ongoing tensions. India’s UN envoy, Parvathaneni Harish, condemned Pakistan for sponsoring terrorism and cited the April 2025 Pahalgam attack, where innocent tourists were killed. Harish accused Pakistani officials of attending funerals of terrorists killed during India’s ‘Operation Sindoor’. He also alleged Pakistan deliberately shelled Indian border villages, killing over 20 civilians. In response to Pakistani remarks on Kashmir, Harish urged the global community to adopt a zero-tolerance approach towards terrorism and reject protection for UN-designated terrorists under the guise of civilian safety.
