On the morning of May 22, 2025, an encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists in Singhpora, Chatroo area of Kishtwar district, Jammu and Kashmir. Based on specific intelligence inputs, a joint operation by the Indian Army and Jammu & Kashmir Police led to the trapping of 3–4 Jaish-e-Mohammed militants. The area was quickly cordoned off, sealing all routes to prevent their escape. A heavy exchange of gunfire continues as reinforcements arrive.
