Shiv Sena's Priyanka Chaturvedi slammed PM Modi's dressing room "pep talk" to players after the World Cup loss, alleging “The Indian cricketers clearly look uncomfortable, having to deal with the loss and then have cameras thrust on them inside the dressing room for PM's team to record ‘pep talk’." Trinamool Congress leader and former cricketer Kirti Azad also objected, saying "The dressing room is the sanctum sanctorum...ICC does not allow anybody to enter apart from players and the support staff... I say this as a sportsman and not a politician." Azad, who was a part of the 1983 World Cup-winning Indian team, rhetorically asked if the PM would allow people in his "bedroom or toilet." After the crushing defeat, PM Modi consoled players in the dressing room, which Chaturvedi called an uncomfortable 'photo-op' forcing cameras on disappointed players reeling from the shock last-ball loss.
