The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the global nuclear watchdog responsible for monitoring nuclear safety and emergency preparedness, confirmed that there was no radiation leak from any nuclear facility in Pakistan. This follows speculation after India’s Operation Sindoor allegedly targeted the Kirana Hills region, believed to house a nuclear site. India’s Air Marshal AK Bharti denied targeting the area, and the Ministry of External Affairs echoed the same. The U.S. State Department reported no updates on radiation concerns. On January 1, 2025, India and Pakistan exchanged nuclear facility lists under their longstanding non-attack agreement, reaffirming nuclear transparency. (PC: Bloomberg, Hindustan Times)
