The Jabalpur High Court condemned his “gutter language” and ordered an FIR against him under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including promoting enmity. Political leaders, including Congress’s Mallikarjun Kharge and Jairam Ramesh, demanded Shah’s removal, while protests erupted across Madhya Pradesh. Colonel Qureshi, who earned national recognition during Operation Sindoor, was defended as a symbol of bravery.
