BSF constable Purnam Kumar Shaw, who was detained by Pakistan Rangers after accidentally crossing the border on April 23, was handed back to Indian authorities on May 14, 2025. Shaw, a member of the 182nd Battalion, had crossed into Pakistan while on duty near Ferozepur, Punjab, after moving towards a shaded spot to rest. He was apprehended by Pakistan Rangers and held in custody for 20 days. The handover took place at the Wagah border at around 10:30 am and followed standard protocols. Shaw is now being debriefed by Indian security officials. (PC: India Today)
