India has firmly restated its stand on Kashmir, saying, “The outstanding matter is the vacation of illegally occupied territory by Pakistan.” On Tuesday, the External Affairs Ministry said talks with Pakistan will only happen on two issues—terrorism and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). Prime Minister Modi had earlier declared, “If we ever talk to Pakistan, it will be on terror and PoK only.” India also rejected US President Trump’s offer to mediate, stressing that Kashmir is a bilateral issue. “Terror and talks can’t go together,” the PM said, ruling out any dialogue until Pakistan stops backing cross-border terrorism.
