India and Pakistan are set to hold Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) level talks today, May 12, to discuss measures for maintaining the recent ceasefire. This follows a conversation on May 10 between India’s DGMO Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai and his Pakistani counterpart, which led to a temporary halt in cross-border firing and air intrusions from 5 PM that day. However, Pakistan reportedly violated the ceasefire just hours later. The upcoming dialogue at 12 noon will focus on ensuring the sustainability of peace amid recent escalations involving drones and missile strikes along the western border. (PC: IMRAN NISSAR)
