In a strong retaliatory action, the Border Security Force (BSF) destroyed a terrorist launch pad in Looni, Sialkot district of Pakistan, after unprovoked firing by Pakistan Rangers on May 10. The launch pad, located opposite Jammu's Akhnoor sector, was targeted in a measured response following a ceasefire violation. BSF confirmed the death of two personnel—Constable Deepak Chimngakham and Sub-Inspector Mohammed Imteyaz—due to the shelling. Eight others from the 7th Battalion were injured. A wreath-laying ceremony was held in Jammu, and the fallen troopers will be laid to rest with full honours. India reaffirmed its right to respond to provocations decisively. (PC: Hindustan Times)
