The International Cricket Council announced its official team of the 2023 World Cup after Sunday's thrilling final won by Australia over India. Indian opener Rohit Sharma was named captain of the squad, which featured six players from the subcontinent country. Joining Sharma were fellow Indians Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja, Jasprit Bumrah, and Mohammed Shami. Kohli was the leading tournament run-scorer while Shami took 24 wickets, the most by any bowler in the event. The ICC team featured players from five of the 10 participating nations in the 50-over World Cup held in India.
