On May 10, 2025, India and Pakistan agreed to a U.S.-brokered ceasefire following escalating violence in Kashmir. However, within hours, Pakistan violated the agreement by conducting drone intrusions and artillery shelling in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla, Akhnoor, Rajouri, and RS Pura sectors. India’s air defense systems responded by downing multiple drones near Srinagar and Rajouri. Blackouts and red alerts were issued in affected areas, including Rajasthan’s Pokhran. Although no firing or explosions occurred overnight, the situation remains tense, with both sides on high alert along the Line of Control. (PC: DW)
