India and Pakistan have agreed to a U.S.-brokered "full and immediate" ceasefire following escalating hostilities triggered by a terrorist attack in Kashmir that killed 26 tourists. Despite the agreement, explosions and artillery fire were reported in Indian-controlled Kashmir, raising concerns about the ceasefire's effectiveness. On the other hand China’s foreign minister has said his country would continue to stand by Pakistan in upholding its “sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national independence”. A complete blackout was imposed in Chandigarh, Pathankot and other areas after Pakistan violated ceasefire. Asaduddin Owaisi posted on X that as long as Pakistan uses its territory for terrorism against India, there can be no permanent peace. (PC: BBC & Mint)
