In a significant escalation of India-Pakistan tensions, the Border Security Force (BSF) thwarted a major infiltration attempt along the International Border in Jammu and Kashmir's Samba district on May 8, 2025. Seven suspected Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorists were neutralized during the operation, which commenced around 11 PM. BSF troops detected suspicious movement near the Samba border and engaged the infiltrators, preventing their entry into Indian territory. A video released by BSF showed extensive damage to the Pakistani post Dhandhar. This incident coincided with India's successful interception of Pakistani missile and drone attacks targeting military installations in Jammu, Pathankot, and Udhampur, following India's Operation Sindoor strikes on terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir.
