In response to the deadly Pahalgam attack, India conducted Operation Sindoor, targeting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK). Nine sites were struck, including Lashkar-e-Taiba's headquarters in Muridke and Jaish-e-Mohammad's base in Bahawalpur. Pakistan condemned the strikes, calling them "cowardly" and vowed to retaliate at a time of its choosing. Pakistan also initiated artillery fire along the Line of Control.
