Amid escalating tensions following the April 22 Pahalgam attack in Indian-administered Kashmir, which claimed 26 lives, Pakistan has conducted two missile tests. On May 3, the Abdali ballistic missile was launched, followed by the Fatah surface-to-surface missile on May 5. Pakistan asserts these tests demonstrate military readiness and are routine, not aimed at India. However, India perceives them as provocative, especially after accusing Pakistan of involvement in the Pahalgam massacre—a claim Islamabad denies. In response, India has suspended diplomatic ties, trade, and the Indus Waters Treaty. Both nations have expelled diplomats and closed airspace. Iran's foreign minister is currently mediating to de-escalate the situation. (PC: News 18)
