ALM Fazlur Rahman, a retired Bangladeshi general closely associated with Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus, suggested that Bangladesh should invade and occupy India’s seven northeastern states if India attacks Pakistan in retaliation for the Pahalgam terror attack. Rahman also called for a military alliance with China to pursue this idea. His remarks, made on Facebook, come amid strained relations between India and Bangladesh. This comes after Yunus previously called Bangladesh the “only guardian of the ocean” in the region, which led to a diplomatic clash with India, especially regarding the northeastern states.
