Virat Kohli surpasses the legendary Sachin Tendulkar and now has the most centuries in Men's ODIs! 'King' Kohli scored his 50th ODI century against New Zealand in the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup semi-final on Thursday. Kohli reached the milestone in the 42nd over, hitting a boundary off Lockie Ferguson's bowling. This was Kohli's fifth World Cup century and first in the knockout stage. He also surpassed Sachin Tendulkar's record for most runs in a single World Cup edition during his knock. Kohli's Wankhede ton is the third in this Cricket World Cup, having scored centuries against Bangladesh and South Africa in earlier stages of the tournament. His ton against Bangladesh came in a successful chase in Pune. His second century helped set up the foundation of a match-winning total against the Proteas at Eden Gardens. His first-ever ODI hundred came against Sri Lanka in Kolkata in December 2009. Kohli made his ODI debut in 2008 and scored his first century in 2009. His 50 ODI tons cement his status as one of the all-time great batters in the format.
