Amar Kaushik's highly anticipated sequel, ‘Stree 2,’ shattered 2024 box office records with an impressive opening day collection of Rs 54.35 crore in India. Released on Independence Day, August 15, the film has outperformed expectations and become the year's biggest opener. Starring Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Aparshakti Khurana, Abhishek Banerjee, and Pankaj Tripathi, ‘Stree 2’ continues the success of its 2018 predecessor. The film earned Rs 8 crore from special opening premieres on August 14, followed by Rs 46 crore on its official release day. This total surpassed previous blockbusters like ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ and ‘Fighter,’ setting a new benchmark in 2024.
