Labour leader Keir Starmer is set to become the first Labour prime minister in 14 years. He will visit King Charles III today to get permission to form a new government. Starmer said his government will put “country first, party second.” He added, “A mandate like this comes with great responsibility,” and promised to focus on “national renewal” and returning “politics to public service.” With over half of the 650 seats counted, Labour is on track for a major win.
