The German Football Federation has also ceased delivery of jerseys with the number 44 from its online shop. The move follows concerns over the resemblance of the two fours to the stylized SS symbol used by the Nazi Party’s Schutzstaffel group. The federation and its partner are now seeking an alternative design for the number 4. The stylized SS symbol is banned in Germany today.
